When Procrastination Is Actually Anxiety

Procrastination is often mislabeled as laziness. For many, it’s anxiety about starting, fear of imperfection, or overwhelm about expectations. Shame makes the task feel even heavier.
Break tasks into the smallest possible steps: “Open the laptop” might be enough today. Celebrate action, not speed. Movement creates momentum.
Compassion—not criticism—helps people begin again.
