Depression and Mood Disorders
Depression and mood disorders can impact how a person thinks, feels, functions, and experiences the world around them. Depression may involve persistent sadness, hopelessness, low motivation, emotional numbness, fatigue, irritability, isolation, changes in sleep or appetite, and difficulty enjoying activities that once felt meaningful. Mood-related struggles can also include periods of emotional highs and lows, difficulty regulating emotions, or feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities. These experiences often affect relationships, work or school functioning, self-esteem, and physical health.
At Assessing Alternatives Counseling, we provide compassionate, individualized support for individuals experiencing depression, mood instability, and related emotional challenges. Our therapists work collaboratively with clients to better understand contributing factors, identify patterns, and develop practical tools for coping and healing. Treatment may incorporate CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed approaches, behavioral activation, emotional regulation strategies, and supportive therapy tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals. We strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported in moving toward improved emotional wellness and connection.
