Anxiety
Anxiety can affect nearly every part of daily life—relationships, work, parenting, sleep, concentration, and even physical health. For some people, anxiety feels like constant overthinking or worry that is difficult to turn off. Others experience panic attacks, racing thoughts, irritability, muscle tension, trouble sleeping, or a persistent sense of feeling “on edge.” Anxiety can also show up in less obvious ways, including perfectionism, avoidance, difficulty making decisions, emotional overwhelm, or feeling emotionally exhausted from trying to hold everything together. At Assessing Alternatives Counseling, we understand that anxiety is not simply “stress” or something a person can just push through—it is a real and often exhausting experience that deserves support and understanding.
Our therapists work with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with many forms of anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, trauma-related anxiety, health anxiety, school-related stress, and anxiety connected to major life transitions. We take a compassionate, individualized approach to treatment and utilize evidence-based modalities such as CBT, EMDR, mindfulness-based interventions, DBT-informed skills, and trauma-focused therapy to help clients better understand their triggers, build coping strategies, and regain a sense of confidence and balance. Whether anxiety has been present for years or has recently become overwhelming, therapy can provide a supportive space to slow down, process experiences, and develop practical tools for lasting change.
